Joe: [to Barry] Whatever Wells wants from you, it started fifteen years ago. He's been patient. Scary patient. You gotta listen to me on this. We have to be just... as... patient.

Joe: What's wrong?
Cecile: I just keep thinking. I'm not doing everything I can to help the city as the district attorney. The justice system doesn't always work for metas... which is why I want to become a defense attorney for meta-humans.
[Joe has a surprised look]
Cecile: I know. I know you can tell me that I'm crazy, and we were not on the same page about Allegra today...
Joe: No, no, no, that's not crazy. That's incredible.
Cecile: Really?
Joe: Babe, you know how many people you could help in this city?
Cecile: Yeah. And I know where I want to start.

[Jesse and Wally are in the Time Vault]
Jesse: Can we come out now?
Dr. Harrison Wells,53194: No!

Cecile: Okay, did I just catch you on the phone with Singh trying to find out how fast he was gonna be back?
Joe: Cecile, I-I-I'm not used to being in charge of all this managerial and logistic stuff. I'm just not cut out for that.
Cecile: What are you talking about? Babe, I have seen you take charge in the field a million times.
Joe: But that's in the field and I always knew that I had Singh to go to if I had any problems this way. Now everybody's coming to me and I can't answer all these questions.
Cecile: Joe West. How many times has Barry, Iris, Nora, even Ralph Dibny come to you? Specifically come to you get answers to their problems?
Joe: More times than I can count.
Cecile: Exactly. And that is because everyone of them knows that when they come to you, they're gonna get an honest answer straight from the heart. Babe, that heart of yours, that is a moral compass. It's one of the many reasons why I love you. Right here. That's all you need, babe. Right here. As long as you speak from there, I promise you, you will never lead anyone astray.

Barry: You took your badge off a-and just walked right in there knowing what could happen. I... what the hell were you thinking?
Joe: Do you think I went over to Carver's house for some macho BS? You know I'm not proud like that. I was just terrified I can't protect my family.
Barry: But you're the one who needs protecting right now.
Joe: I'm not worried about me, Barry. I can't lose Cecile and Jenna.
Barry: And we can't lose you! Listen! Carver has unlimited resources, right? I mean, first it was Dr. Light, then it was Sunshine. Today it's Rag Doll, and tomorrow... it's who knows? And now, if I can't protect you...
Joe: What do you want me to do?
Barry: Think about witness protection.
[Joe groans in distaste]
Barry: Joe, you need to stay alive.

Detective: Allen.
Barry: Yeah, Eddie, I...
[Eddie punches Barry]
Detective: Stay away from Iris.
Joe: What the hell is going on here?
Captain: Hey, if you two have a beef, you take it outside.
Detective: You know what the worst part, Barry. I thought you and I were friends.

Iris: Stop, that did not happen.
Joe: Yes, it did. Look, my lips went numb, and then they swelled up so bad it looked like I had plastic surgery.
Iris: What did Wally do?
Joe: He laughed of course. The baby laughed. At least now I know I'm allergic to Szechuan peppers.

[Caitlin has been abducted]
Barry: I-I-I still don't have my speed. How are we supposed to save her from Grodd?
Joe: You may not have your legs just yet, but you still got that brain. Use it. Help us figure that out.

Harrison: How can you have such faith?
Joe: Because someone or something called The Monitor says my son is destined to die in some kind of Crisis, and the only way I can stomach any of that is have faith that his continuing life or his death is for the greater... the greater... the greater good.
Harrison: You've seen Mar Movu?

Joe: [beating Barry and Iris at a card game] I hope y'all packed your bags 'cause I'm taking you to Boston! You sorry bunch of moth...
Cecile: Joe!
Joe: I was gonna say friends.
Cecile: Mm-hmm.
Joe: And family.

Joe: [shoots a clone of Danton Black] Any more of them?
Caitlin: Nope.
Barry: Why did it start moving?
Dr. Harrison Wells: The prime. My guess is the prime is on the move. This one heard the summons to battle.
Joe: And I know where he was summoned to - Stagg Industries.
Barry: You should call it in.
Joe: Police can't fight this. What Black's become, like Mardon... beyond me. Maybe way beyond them, too. The only person it's not beyond is you. You gotta do this. I get it. So for once in your life, do what I tell you to do. Go stop him.

Joe: Barry's gone.
Cisco: You know what else is gone? The new suit.
Caitlin: What's happening?
Cisco: The Flash is back!

Joe: So for the millionth time, I'm lost on all this time travel stuff. What happens now? With Savitar? Iris didn't die. That changes things, right?
Barry: I mean, since that Iris didn't die, future me never goes down that same dark path. I never create time remnants to fight Savitar.
Iris: And if future you never creates these time remnants, then Savitar himself is never born.
Julian: Precisely. Once the time paradox catches up with him... He'll be erased from existence.
Joe: But I saw him. He didn't disappear.
Julian: Not yet.
Barry: But he will, Joe.
Joe: Any guess how long that's gonna take?
Barry: Maybe a few hours?
Joe: He can do a lot of damage in a few hours.
Iris: Well, we can't just sit around and wait for Savitar to disappear.
Julian: But Savitar won't become Savitar if he's erased.
Barry: Not unless he pulls off whatever he's got in mind before the paradox hits him. He stole the bazooka for a reason.
Joe: Yeah, why?
Barry: I don't know, but remember, he's been planning this for centuries. He wants to be a god. He must need the bazooka, and Caitlin, to achieve his goals.

Joe: Damn, where is this boy?
Cecile: You have already left Wally a dozen voicemails.
Joe: He's literally on a time machine, so he has no excuse not to show up on time to meet his new baby sister.

Joe: Ralph, hold up. Listen, I'm not gonna let Barry go to prison. I failed his dad; I'm not gonna fail him. I need your help.
Ralph: My help, huh? As in the, uh, stretchy kind?
Joe: As in the underhanded private investigator kind.

Joe: Why the interest in an open and shut case?
Iris: Well, the guard told "The Citizen" a different story this morning and I figure I can help him get his job back if I can break the real story. He didn't doze off, Dad. He had a vision of his abusive stepfather stalking him in the bank, realer than any nightmare he's ever had.
Joe: The robbery went down at 11:09, last night.
Iris: Mm-hmm.
Joe: Around the same time that Cecile was having a nightmare too. Damn. If we've got some kind of Freddy Krueger meta on our hands, we'll find him.

Joe: So you went to to the future?
Ralph: Yeah. John Stamos still handsome.
Sherloque: He'll never not age.
Ralph: No, never. Man, he looks good.

Joe: I don't suppose my home owners insurance covers a "Sharknado" attack.
Wally: I-I don't understand you people. Jaws busts through your house like the Kool-Aid Man, The Flash shows up, and y'all act like it's no big deal.
Iris: Yeah, well, we've had a lot of weird things happen in Central City over the past two years.
Wally: Weirder than a talking shark wearing pants?

Bloodwork: Your efforts are in vain, Captain. I'm going to transform this city by dawn, and you can't stop me.
Joe: Stand down, Dr. Rosso.
Bloodwork: Rosso's my human name, and he had human plans. My name is Bloodwork now, and I am not alone.

Joe: So how are we supposed to stop him?
Jay: The stone.
Barry: Jay's right, the stone has been the key to everything. It's - it's how he controlled Julian, it's how he created more metas.
Iris: So we destroy the stone and Savitar is gone for good.
Julian: It's impossible to destroy. It's been around forever, there's a reason for that.
Wally: Why don't we just bury it again, put it back in the ground where you found it?
Cisco: Mm-mm. "Jumanji".
Joe: Someone would just find it and we'd be right back where we started.

Joe: Iris! Come on! This brunch reservation ain't gonna get any later.
Barry: Joe, don't worry. I'll make sure we're on time. After surviving Armageddon, we all deserve this.

Barry: Shouldn't that thing be at CCPD in evidence lockup?
Joe: Well, if Carver's trying to get this, we can't risk his mole gaining access. I put in a call to A.R.G.U.S. Until they have it in their custody, I'm not letting it out of my sight.
Iris: Well, we... we could keep it here at S.T.A.R. Labs for the time being.
Barry: If Sunshine is as ruthless as Dr. Light and Ultraviolet, then she's coming after that Refractor again, and if she shows up at S.T.A.R Labs, the Flash isn't gonna be able to do anything to stop her. Let A.R.G.U.S. take it.
Iris: [watching him leave] Barry's right about Sunshine. What if she strikes during the transfer to A.R.G.U.S.?
Joe: Let me worry about that. Go see after your husband.

Ralph: Look, this is all just fantastic, but we're not really gonna do this.
Cisco: Yeah, I mean, um, we've already got a lot on our plate just trying to free one innocent man.
Caitlin: We all want Barry to be free, but I don't think that there's much else we can do right now. We kinda hit a wall.
Joe: Well, we're not gonna get through that wall while we're working on this.
Iris: It's just one case.
Dr. Harry Wells: And it's a case that we have to take. Allen has made one request of us since he's been incarcerated, and the request don't even involve himself. We have to take this case.
Cisco: It's unsettling how convincing you can be sometimes.

Detective: So this Flash Day thing? I'm hopin' you're plannin' on making an appearance.
Barry: Ah... I haven't decided.
Detective: Bar, I heard the Mayor's trying to give you the key to the city.
Barry: Yeah, I don't need an award.
Detective: You love getting awards. Like all those science trophies you got in high school?
Barry: Those I deserved.

Joe: That storage space you sent us to was booby-trapped.
James: You can never be too careful with your private things.
Barry: You were protecting nothing. Your secret stash was empty.
James: What do you mean?
Joe: No firearms, none of your explosives, nothing.
Barry: Whatever you had in there, it was stolen. All of it.
James: No. He's stealing my legacy. Whoever this is... you need to find him. I will not let this... this...
Joe: Trickster?
James: That is *my* name! Mine!
Joe: What was in that room? What were you keeping there?
James: A bomb. A really big bomb.
Barry: How big?
James: Bye-bye, Central City.

Dr. Harry Wells: You race Zoom on his terms, you'll lose.
Barry: This is not your decision to make!
Joe: It is this time.
Barry: No.
Joe: We all made it together.
Barry: What? All of you?
Cisco: Bro, I went back and forth. I was, like, a good 60/40 at first.

Wally: So, what's the game plan?
Barry: Well, there is none yet. Whoever attacked us knows who we are, so I think just get Joe and Cecile as far away as possible.
Wally: Oh, no way, man. I have to help out. Come on.
Barry: You're helping by keeping our family safe.
Joe: He's right. Until we know what these people want, nobody's safe.

Barry: I think the Mardon brothers are hiding on a farm. The fecal matter I found on the street, it was cow manure, which contained oxytetracycline. It's an antibiotic. There are only four farms in the area that still use it in their feed. Bet you'll find a really sweet Shelby parked at one of them.
Iris: Dad, seeing how Barry solved your poop problem, how about letting him go to S.T.A.R. Labs?
Joe: Fine, go.

Joe: You have people that sit up at night worried sick about you, and they're not going to stop worrying about you. That's what a family does. They put up with each other and they put each other first, before ourselves.
Wally: So you're not mad at me?
Joe: For being reckless with your life? Yeah, hell yeah, I'm mad at you, but I'm more mad at myself for being something I'm not. I'm not your friend, Wally. I'm your father. I ain't letting you go.

Joe: It was crazy. It was like it was accelerating by itself. I mean, I know you won't believe this, but it was like somebody cut the brakes while I was driving. Is that even possible?
Barry: I-I don't know. I'll find out.
Chief: Are you sure you're okay?
Joe: I'm fine. It's Carver that needs to worry.
Cecile: You think Carver's the one behind this?
Joe: Well, he knows I took down one of his assassins, Millie Rawlins, AKA Sunshine. And he knows I'm the lead on the RICO case we're building against him.
Chief: Well, if that's true, we have to get you into witness protection. You're just not safe out here, Joe.
Joe: David, I'm not going anywhere. Look, if Carver is coming after me, that means he is scared. What do scared people do? They make mistakes. We need to take advantage of that.
Chief: Fine. Fine. You have my complete support, Joe, as always. But if anything happens, I'll never forgive myself.

Joe: Look, I'm sure you don't want this investigation to get any more public than it's already been. Do you, doctor?
Christina: This has Harrison Wells written all over it in big black letters. I'm not giving you my tachyon prototype.
Barry: It was quite the tour of your facility, doctor. You were fine to let us dumb cops walk around, but I majored in physics and chemistry and I saw a whole lot of stuff that Science Showcase Magazine would love to hear about; so, should I call their editors directly or just leave a few posts on their website?
Christina: You'll have the tachyon device within the hour. I see why Harrison holds you in such esteem, Mr. Allen. You're very much alike.

Joe: There was a house fire on Batton Street last month.
Barry: Okay.
Joe: The occupant died of smoke inhalation. I'm wondering if you could take a second look.
Barry: Joe, this case was already declared an accident.
Joe: Yeah. I, uh... I-I need a fresh pair of eyes on it.
Barry: Okay. I mean, what am I looking for?
Joe: Whatever you find.
Barry: Joe, I mean, I've got a mountain of cases I need to go through. Ones that haven't been solved already.
Joe: Okay, all I can say is that you'd be doing me a favor. And whatever you find, Barr, bring it directly to me.

Turtle: Zip off again, and I'll age him 1,000 years.
The: Listen to me. Listen. We can't do anything to make up for the time that you lost, but if you take responsibility for the time you have left, you won't lose anymore. I promise. Please let us help you.
Turtle: I don't want your help.
Joe: We know.
[injects her with Velocity X]
Joe: Thanks for the tip, Flash.
[cuffs her]
Joe: Let's see how you handle *our* version of time.

Joe: That looks familiar. Been what, seven, eight years since I've seen this board? Except the last time, it was covered with photos of a different man. Cecile told me what happened. The team is worried about you.
Barry: No, they don't have to be. I'm fine.
Joe: No, you're not. They don't know what today is. I do. February 1 - Henry's birthday. I remember when he was turning 45, and your mom threw that surprise birthday. The whole block showed up, and you were baking cupcakes for weeks, and when the big night came, before he could even take off his coat, the pager went off.
Barry: They actually needed him. Had to miss his own party.
Joe: And you were disappointed. Of course. But you understood. He was helping save people's lives, right?
Barry: Yeah.
Joe: But Henry, he was crushed. He was worried that he was missing all these moments with you and your mom. But I told him, "Those cupcakes might be stale now. But you'll have more birthdays for both of them."
Barry: Oh, there were. That was the last one before it happened.
[remembers the night of his father's arrest]
Barry: Joe, the look in my dad's eyes that night... It was the same look in Birch's eyes when they arrested him. Look of an innocent man... desperate not to lose his son... Begging someone to believe him.
Joe: And you do?
Barry: Yeah, I do. I just keep thinking about all the time my dad lost. All the birthdays we spent, separated by plexiglass. I can't let Birch and his son go through that if he's innocent.

Dr. Harry Wells: I think I need a Big Belly Burger. Anyone?

Joe: Yeah no pickles.
Cisco: Two triple-triples please?
Dr. Harry Wells: You got money?

Iris: Hey, so we ran the sketches you made us through the CCP database, and...
Joe: Her name's Becky Sharpe. She's twenty-four years old, no priors.
Barry: No priors? Then why is she in the database?
Joe: Because in the last three years she's lived in Central City, she's been rear-ended four times, her identity stolen twice.
Iris: A cat burglar literally burgled her cat.

Dr. Harry Wells: Oh Detective, I didn't know you cared.
Joe: Yes
[smiling]
Joe: you did.

Iris: Hey, dad, you're home early.
Joe: What were you doing at the bomb site last night? Don't deny you were there. Officer Vukovich saw you.
Iris: It's... complicated.
Joe: You can't be coming to every crime scene because you're worried about Eddie. He's a big boy, Iris.
Iris: I didn't go there to see Eddie. I... I went there to see the Streak.
Joe: The Streak. Hmm. Why is that?
Iris: My blog. I've been collecting Internet posts about the Streak sightings and writing about them.
Joe: Baby, there's no Streak.
Iris: Yes, there is. I saw him last night, dad. I looked right at him. Something incredible is happening in Central City. And I am gonna write about it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get to work. Blogging about supernatural events...
[giving him a goodbye kiss on the cheek]
Iris: ...doesn't really pay well.

The: He wants to kill you before you build it. That's why he's sending Killer Frost after you.
Tracy: Killer Frost? Her name is... Killer Frost?
H.R. Wells: Yeah.
Joe: We know it's a lot to take in.
Tracy: Well, to be honest, you're basically calling me Sarah Connor in "Terminator."
Cisco: Well... Uh, more like... Miles Dyson.

Joe: Wolfe is trafficking meta-humans? Is everybody crooked in this town?
Cisco: Ah, he always did look smug in those Italian wool suits. Oh, my God, he's literally wolf in sheep's clothing.

Joe: Oh, I get it.
Barry: What?
Joe: No. I do not approve.
Iris: Hi, Barry.
Barry: Hey.
Iris: Dad.
Joe: Iris. You think it's a good idea, dating someone I work with?
Iris: It's just a lunch. And truthfully, I wasn't even sure you still worked here.

Joe: Hey, Counselor Horton. How are you?
Cecile: I am crappy, Detective West. So if you don't mind, I'm just gonna...
Joe: [blocking her way as she starts to leave] Yeah. Sorry, um, we are celebrating New Year's here, and...
Cecile: Oh, God. Okay, I'ma stop you right there. Um, two things: one, I have a ton of paperwork back on my desk at the D.A.'s office, and two - this one's important; pay attention - all men are jerks. No offense.
Joe: None taken.
Cecile: Great.
[leaving]
Cecile: Happy New Year.
Joe: Damn...
Officer: Sorry, Detective. Then again, her divorce just finalized last week.
Joe: That wasn't worth mentioning?
Officer: I was gonna, but it just seems like you two would make such a great pair.

Barry: Okay, I went through everything. There was indeed one file missing. And it's...
[Joe hands him a notepad]
Barry: Thank you... it is from 2017. That's it.
Joe: All right, I'll do some digging, see why this was so important they had to cut a hole in the wall.

Joe: [about Iris] Keeping her in the dark, it's for her safety.
Detective: That is debatable - and we will have that debate - but for right now, what's our next move? How do we figure out what Wells is up to?
Barry: When Wells was talking me through phasing so I could get the Trickster's bomb off my wrist, the way that he described my being The Flash, running, feeling the wind and the power, it's like he was talking from experience.
Joe: What are you saying?
Barry: I don't know how... but he's the man in yellow. Harrison Wells is the Reverse-Flash.

Barry: What happened?
Joe: Robbery. Stole the Kahndaq Dynasty family crown. It was brought here for the museum exhibition. The security guard said that it was being transported in a steel-plated crate, weighs about 200 pounds. Suddenly disappeared without a trace, and then reappeared completely smashed.
Barry: So was anything else missing in the museum?
Joe: Just the crown. Nothing else is missing.
Ralph: Should I, uh, stretch around the perimeter? Check things out?
Barry: No, no. I mean, I can tell from here, to cause that type of impact, the case had to be moving at at least 55 miles per hour.
Joe: So we're looking for a meta with super strength.
Barry: I mean, maybe. Are there fingerprints on the case?
Joe: I'll have them dust it, send the results in.
Ralph: Why wait? I can just, uh, grab the tape. Get the prints right now.
Barry: [he starts to use his powers] No, hey.
Jay the Security Guard: [carrying a large vase with Bob] It was definitely Killer Frost, and she looked at me.
Barry: [gently shoving his shoulder] Ralph!
[Ralph's arm whips up and knocks the vase out of the security guards' hands]
Jay the Security Guard: Dude! I need this job!
Ralph: Allen! Look what you did.

Barry: When was the last time we had a night out, again?
Iris: I don't know. It's been too long. Is that Nora Darhk?
Nora: [spotting them] Barry Allen? Iris? What am I doing here? What just happened? Where is my dad? Barry.
Barry: [not sure what to say] I...
Nora: Please, someone, tell me what is going on.
Joe: You're okay, thanks to your dad.
Nora: He's gone, isn't he?
[he nods]
Nora: Why is this happening again?
Joe: Because Damien Darhk promised that he would do whatever it takes to save his daughter, and he did. Come on. There's a story I need you to hear.

Caitlin: Ever since I found out I still have a cryogenic anomaly in my DNA, I've been doing every medical avenue I can think of to get Killer Frost to emerge.
Joe: Mm. You really do miss her, don't you?
Caitlin: Yeah. Killer Frost was a part of me, and just as I was starting to accept her, she was taken away. I'm running out of ideas.
Joe: Hmm. Well, I know it's not exactly the same, but I've had my fair share of missing persons cases.
Caitlin: And what do you do when you've hit a wall?
Joe: I try to attack it from a different direction. If that helps.

Joe: [as Barry explains to Wally how he created his time remnant] Is that what I look like when they're... start talking about science?
Iris: Pretty much.

Barry: You said you know who Savitar is.
Abra: I know everything about the God of Speed, hallowed be his name.
Iris: Like what?
Abra: That he's unstoppable, that he was the first speedster, and that you defeat him, but not until after he takes what matters the most to you... Iris West.
Iris: Tell me is who he is, now!
Abra: I don't think so. It's frustrating isn't it, knowing that you're going to die unless I give The Flash what he wants. All that power, all that speed, and yet you're still slow.
Joe: This isn't a game or a trick. This is about my daughter's life.
Abra: And it's my life if you hand me over to that collector. It's simple. Let me out, and I'll tell you who Savitar is. Give me to Gypsy, and Iris dies. The decision lies with you, Barry.

Joe: Officer Allen is our department's top forensics examiner, ma'am. If there's any evidence here that we can use, he will find it.
Kristen: And Killer Frost is still out there. Captain, I hate to pull rank, but Governor Williamson gave me special authority in order to address this city's long-standing metahuman problems. We need to keep public safety in mind.
Joe: Agreed.
Kristen: Good. Because I'm going to ask the D.A.'s office to issue a warrant for Killer Frost's arrest. I'm gonna need you and your officers for backup.
Joe: I'll alert the Meta-human Task Force.
Kristen: Thank you. I need to update the Governor's office. Excuse me.
Barry: [Kramer leaves] Joe, you can't be serious. We all know Frost didn't do this.
Joe: What am I supposed to say, Barry? "Yes, Frost did spend the evening with Caitlin."
Chester P. Runk: You can't give Kramer her alibi without admitting that you've talked to a fugitive. Dang, that's a real catch-22.
[mimicking an echo]
Chester P. Runk: Two, two.
[seeing their looks]
Chester P. Runk: I'm sorry, my timing on that was terrible. I'm just gonna go tell Frost what's going on.

Joe: I'm fine. I'm all bandaged up.
Barry: All right, Joe, that's twice now.
Joe: And that's twice I've gotten a clean bill of health.
[putting his coat on]
Joe: All right.
Barry: Wait, hold on. Where are you going?
Joe: Barry, I am still the lead on this investigation. And I was this close to getting a deal with Rawlins if it wasn't for this...
Barry: He's a dangerous psycho, and he's got your number. All right, look, I-I-I hate it say it, but I-I don't know. It feels like maybe Singh was right and you should let this go for a while.
Joe: Oh, so you're gonna take me off the case now.
Barry: No, I just... I'm trying to keep you safe, all right? And I-I'm not fast enough to do that anymore. I mean, look at your arm.
Joe: Well, Barry, you know I'm not gonna stop if I'm this close.
Barry: Look, I get it, but will you please just stay here at S.T.A.R. Labs, at least until I've stopped Rag Doll?

Cisco: Oh, um, Captain, one more thing.
Captain: You are not getting a badge, Mr. Ramon.
[Joe chuckles]
Cisco: He's really stingy with those badges, isn't he?
Detective: Yeah, cops are funny that way.

Barry: We hit a wall at S.T.A.R. Labs tracking Cicada. Thought a change of scenery would help, but...
Joe: Keep your head your up, man. We'll find a way. We always do.
Barry: Honestly, I'm more worried about what happens when we do. Our whole plan depends on me being able to convince Dwyer to just take the cure. The last time I tried... I don't think I've never struck out so hard.
Joe: Wow, that's saying a lot considering your track record at the plate. Wait, what exactly did you say to him?
Barry: That he was creating a legacy of fear, one that would go down in history, but that we could work together to change that.

Joe: Look, that man's a zealot. He sees you in that suit and all he sees is the thing he hates. Meta-human, superpowers, the thing that took his niece away from him. He can't see past the Flash, but what he doesn't know - there's a whole lot more to you than that. Be more Barry Allen. Human.

Joe: Mmm, I was thinking about what you said, about part of being The Flash is that you have the ability to do amazing things that nobody else can do. And we see now that a hundred years from now, you'll still be doing them. But the other part is, you're gonna be loaded with sacrifices, and you're gonna have hard choices to make, And there's gonna be a lot of things where, eventually, you'll have to let them go. You gotta be ready for that.
Barry: I am. I'm ready.
Joe: That's my boy.

Cisco: What was his lair like? Did he eat the banana? Does he like King Kong? He's more of a Planet of the Apes kind of ape?
Joe: Uh, terrifying, no, and I didn't ask.

Dr. Harry Wells: Hey, listen to me. Thawne knows about you. Right here, right now. This is where he learns about you, all of you. It's how he knows about S.T.A.R. Labs, how he knows about me; the Harrison Wells from this Earth. And there is nothing I can do about it. There's nothing you can do about it. This is his origin story, and it's going to happen no matter what you do. But right here, right now... you can send him back to his time. You can save your friend. Dr. Harry Wells: All right, we're synched up with whatever the heck that thing is.
Joe: Finally, something we're both baffled by.
Dr. Harry Wells: I am kidding. That, my friend, is a 75-KTSB 40,000 watt reverberating sound amplifier designed to single out the operating frequency of every single Earth-2 being on this planet, which, when contained and magnified by The Flash, creating a sound pressure wall around the city, will render all of us Earth-2 beings unconscious.
[tossing a set of protective earphones to Jesse]
Dr. Harry Wells: Hence... the safety precautions.
Henry: I'm baffled by it.

Barry: Do we know anything about Sunshine?
Joe: Only that she can disappear in sunlight and melt steel.
Iris: [entering] Her name is Millie Rawlins. Kamilla took a photo before we got out of Mercury Labs. We ran it through S.T.A.R. Labs' facial recognition and got a hit at the Department of Defense's database.
Joe: Ex-military, special ops.
Iris: She, uh, was transferred to the covert division after the particle accelerator explosion left her with the meta ability to bend sunlight. Her call sign was Sunshine.

Cecile: Okay, so, break it down. How did it happen?
Iris: Um... we were at the apartment, and, um, Barry sang to me. And then he proposed.
Cecile: Oh, my God, that's so romantic. You sing?
Barry: Not as good as Joe.
Joe: Shut up, Barry.

Amunet: Just when I thought I'd considered every option for where Norvock might be skulking, I remembered whenever the fuzz used to be on to one of our deals, I would plant a rumor that it was going down at a false location.
Joe: Ah, a fake-out to keep "the fuzz" off your tracks.
Amunet: Mm!
Caitlin: So that's where we think Norvock is, in the abandoned Reynolds substation.
Iris: Underground. That's why the shards weren't registering on the satelite.
Barry: All right, why don't the three of us go get your shards? When we'll be armed and ready to take out DeVoe's satellites.
Caitlin: I'm coming, too. I'll get the cold gun.

Joe: I can't believe that little girl in there grows up to be a time-traveling serial killer.
Cecile: Why can't we just wake her up right now?
Barry: We tried before. It didn't work.
Joe: What about the meta cure y'all cooked up?
Barry: We need Grace's consent. Besides, Caitlin says that her condition is too fragile to even try.
Joe: And I'm assuming that destroying the time-traveling hamster ball, that messes up the timeline?
Barry: Yeah, it would probably just make things even worse.

Kristen: Caitlin Snow, I have a warrant for your arrest.
Caitlin: What's the charge?
Kristen: [into her walkie-talkie] Kramer to Task Force command, hold your positions around the perimeter, and prepare for prisoner transfer. Are you alone, Dr. Snow?
Caitlin: Yes, but I... I think there's been a mistake. Joe. What is this? Who are you?
Rene: I'm Rene Carpenter. I'm a clinician with the M.H.E. team.
Caitlin: Mental health evaluation?
Rene: Yes, ma'am, it's standard procedure. I'm just here to help.
Caitlin: Joe, what is going on?
Joe: [holding up a pair of meta-cuffs] Would you turn around, please?
[cuffing her as she does so]
Joe: Killer Frost, you're under arrest for aggravated assault, attempted murder, and two counts of kidnapping. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney...

Joe: I should tell you, up until a couple days ago, Cecile and I were talking about moving out of Central City to the country for good.
Barry: What?
Joe: It's okay. We decided to stay. And it's a good thing because the team needs her here.
Barry: We need you, too.
Joe: No, you don't. I'm not a cop anymore, and I'm not a meta, so what am I doing here?
Barry: Joe... no one is more important to this team - to this family - than you. I mean, think of all the heroes you've raised over the years. We couldn't do what we do if we didn't have you to teach us how. Inspiring people is your super power.
Joe: That's nice. But if it's my super power, it's yours too, Barry. 'Cause you've inspired me. What I learned about being a parent is whatever seeds we've planted, we have to trust that they take root, no matter how dark things get. So you have faith in your way of being a hero. If you do that, you'll always find your way and those who follow you will, too.

Tracy: The sketch artist was, like, freaking Michelangelo. And you've got your woman.
Joe: No, not yet. And until we do, you could be in a lot of danger.
Tracy: You really think Jack Frost's sister wants to kill me? I'm no one.
Joe: In my experience, if she's come after you once, she's likely to do it again.

Detective: His face is melted off. How's that picture gonna help I.D. him?
Barry: I have mad skills.
Joe: Please don't ever say that again.

Joe: Bar, I know what you're doing. Don't. Don't blame yourself.
Barry: But what you just said... Ramsey infecting me, Eva using a copy of Iris to manipulate my emotions... Lately, it feels like my heart is my enemies' greatest weapon.
Joe: Have faith, son. We will get Iris back. I feel that in my heart.

Allegra: Okay, but raising the dead, that's intense, even for us.
Joe: Turned out okay for Lazarus, right?

Joe: I didn't find any known aliases in any of the records of CCPD. And Clariss won't say anything either.
Barry: All right, well, keep at him. Alchemy is the one that gave Clariss back his speed.
Cisco: He's kinda like a doctor, that way, don't you think? Come on, don't pretend like Doctor Alchemy doesn't have a nice ring to it.
Caitlin: Okay, well, that explains why he didn't have any traces of dark matter in his cells. He didn't get his powers from the particle accelerator, he got them from Alchemy.
Cisco: What's that?
Caitlin: Doctor Alchemy.

Joe: Yeah, well, we need to do something about Grodd.
Caitlin: Like what?
Joe: Like get rid of him for good.
Caitlin: You want to kill him?
Joe: Considering how many people he's killed, yeah.
Caitlin: This isn't Grodd's fault. He's only like this because Wells made him this way.
Barry: Yes, but, Catie, he kidnapped you and you could have died.
Caitlin: You didn't see what I saw. Grodd's getting smarter. He's lonely and sad. He wants more apes like him.
Cisco: What are you saying? He wants kids? 'Cause I'm pretty sure one telepathic Grape Ape is more than enough for this city.

Joe: Do we think he knows he's the Flash? That he has superspeed?
Cisco: [throws something at Barry] Hey Barry, catch!
Barry: [misses miserably] Sorry...
Julian: Oh my Lord.
Cisco: Its like God-awful.
Julian: He's pathetic!

Caitlin: I actually think the two of you are really gonna get along. And you too, Chester.
Chester P. Runk: What makes you say that?
Caitlin: I mean, I probably shouldn't be saying this because it was a long time ago, but he mentioned that maybe once he, you know...
Chester P. Runk: No, seriously?
Allegra: What? What?
Barry: Ronnie played D&D in college?
Caitlin: Once or twice.
Chester P. Runk: Oh, snap! We're gonna help him get his game on, girl. Once he's better and all that, of course.
Joe: Whatever happened to chess or checkers?
Cecile: Dominoes.
Joe: That's a good game right there.
Allegra: Okay, Grandpa.

The: I lost my speed.
Joe: What do you mean you lost your speed?
[Iris's hand is vibrating]
Iris: Uh, guys, I think I found it.

Barry: Joe. What are you doing here?
Joe: Going over the materials in your mom's case. How's it going with you?
Barry: Stellar. I made friends with a human bomb who I promised I could help, and then I couldn't. And I finally diagnosed why Iris is writing about the Streak. She's doing it for me.
[laughing]
Barry: To prove the impossible is possible.
Joe: How do you know that?
Barry: The Streak may have talked to her.

Cecile: [mourning Nora] We're so sorry.
Joe: We have to believe that we'll see her again.
Iris: We will.

Joe: [to Barry] You scared the bejesus out of me.

[Joe knocks Barry's mug off the table and it smashes on the floor]
Joe: You didn't catch it.
Barry: I loved that mug. And what part of "a meta-human stole my speed" didn't you understand?

Joe: This is where I play dumb and you explain the science.

Joe: So that was Creyke. How did you know he had us in his sights?
Kristen: That light. I'd recognize the signature of Adam's pulse rifle anywhere. You okay?
Joe: I'm alive, so I'm good. We need to get backup, though.
[checking his phone]
Joe: Damn it. I can't get a signal.
Kristen: He's jamming cell service to keep us isolated. Which means he knows we didn't die in that blast.
Joe: We need to keep moving.

Caitlin: These isotopic signature are moving at speeds that should be impossible. This new Force is rewinding time at random, and we can't stop it.
Joe: What happens if we get stuck in one of these time pockets?
Caitlin: We could end up in the Stone Age.
Iris: Oh my, God. It's all up to Cisco and Chester now.

Captain: The Army's taking over the bombing investigation.
General: I'll need everything you have. Physical evidence, photographs, witness interviews, and all your personal notes.
Joe: I've been on the job nearly twenty years and never heard of the Army investigating anything civilian.
General: Well, it's not civilian. She's one of ours.
Joe: We'll send over everything we got.
General: Very kind of you. I think we'll take it now, though.

Barry: What's up with you? All night, you've seemed preoccupied.
Joe: I'm worried.
Barry: About what?
Joe: Being a dad again. I'm almost 50, Bar.
Barry: Mm-hmm.
Joe: I saw that video Cisco made of you and Iris when you were kids, I... it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was... I was young the first time I did this. And seeing Joanie, ugh... it's hard raising humans, Bar.
Barry: You'll be fine.
Joe: I barely get enough sleep as it is worrying about you three, especially with Wally being gone. Add to that a crazy baby schedule: feeding, crying. I'm honestly scared to death.
Barry: Joe, when you raised Iris, you were alone. When you took me in, you were alone. And, you know, when Wally showed up, you were alone. You did all that by yourself, single parent. No one could have done a better job. No one. Now, you... you've got a partner, you've got a family. You've always been there for us when we've needed you, and now it's just our turn to do that for you. We will.

Robber: All right, first, I want a car. Something eco-friendly, like, uh... like a Prius.
Joe: [a little taken aback] Okay, we can do that.
Robber: [oblivious to Ralph rescuing the hostages] Good. Uh, right. Now, second. Uh, I want a plane, okay? A private plane. Okay? And a salad, all right? I'm counting calories.
Joe: Okay, it's gonna take us an hour to arrange that.
Robber: You better hurry up, because these hostages don't have much time.
Elongated: [appearing, as the robber realizes the hostages are gone] Should have gone with a steak, pal. 'Cause it's the last decent meal you're getting for the next five to ten years.
Robber: Who the hell are you?
Elongated: Your friendly neighborhood superhero. You can call me...
[stammering]
Elongated: Mr... one second.
[into his comms]
Elongated: Guys, this is a huge moment for me. What's my name?
Cisco: I was wondering where you were going with that.

Joe: We haven't talked in a week. How are you?
Kristen: I don't really know how to answer that. I just wanted to let you know that my meta test came back positive.
Joe: So you are a speedster?
Kristen: Well, yes and no. Adam was right. I should've died in that bombing, but I didn't. And neither did he because he has immortal healing powers. And so did I when I absolutely needed them. Just like when I needed super-speed to save your life, I had it for just a moment.
Joe: That's incredible.
Kristen: Turns out I can mimic the abilities of any meta in close proximity, which sounds insane, but it's real. Well, it's... it's given me new perspective on the path I took as a member of law enforcement, and... I'm so sorry, West, for all of it.
Joe: Hey, you lost your way a little, but I always knew that your heart was in the right place. You just needed to find it.
Kristen: Agreed. That's why I'm taking an indefinite leave of absence from CCPD. Take care of yourself, West.
Joe: Kristen. Call me Joe.

Joe: It normally works.
Iris: Dad, what were you thinking?
Joe: Look, bleach takes out stains, and the curtains were dirty, so...
Cecile: [laughing] I'm sorry, but no! No! This whole retirement thing, he's still real new at it.
Joe: Look, this the cleanest spot in the whole house, and I would have done a whole lot more if Frost hadn't taken my cleaning supplies for her collages.
Allegra: Oh yeah, I still don't know how she carried that stuff while ice-bridging across town.
Chester P. Runk: She didn't. People were finding sponges and yellow gloves for miles. Actually, I think Wild Dog uses Joe's mops as a bo staff.

Joe: Logistics compliance. Is that what you were doing when you were working in Gotham?
Kristen: I've made a few trips there. I'm a big Knights fan.
Joe: And I called my buddy who'd been working the Gotham beat for more than a decade. Pretty high stakes game you played. And...
[showing her her military service record]
Joe: ...there is this. So I don't know what your goal is here, but if you're gonna be in my precinct... how about we cut the bull and you be honest with me.
Kristen: Fair enough. I wasn't planning to announce this until I got my bearings. On the orders of the governor, I'm here to locate and apprehend a rogue meta-human, whatever the cost. And quite frankly, it's about time someone addressed the long-standing issue this precinct ignored.
Joe: [looking at her tablet] You want to arrest the Flash?
Kristen: Hmm, no; he's clean. So far. I'm here for someone far more dangerous. The meta-human fugitive known as Killer Frost.

Joe: I need a drink.
Barry: God, I wish I can have a drink.
Cisco: [brings out a vile] Bro, do you really think I'd let you down like that? Your special concoction. Guaranteed to give you that gentle, pleasant buzz all night long.
Barry: What if we need the Flash?
Cisco: I volunteered to be designated superhero.

Joe: Damn, Bar, I would have paid good money to see you singing and dancing.
Kara: Uh, well, he's holding out on you, because Barry has an amazing voice.
Caitlin: He does!
Barry: Uh-uh.
Caitlin: I've actually seen him sing.
Cisco: What, you have? How have we not made a GIF of that?

Iris: [to verify a suspicion about Wally, Joe dropped and broke his coffee mug] Dad, do you really think that he's a meta-human?
Joe: Well, he got zapped by the Particle Accelerator and he was unconscious. It was worth a shot.
Iris: I gave you that mug.

Cecile: That guilt that you feel right now? There's a way to make up for it. All you have to do is help us find Orlin.
Dr. Vanessa Ambres: What, so... so you can put him in jail? Kill him?
Joe: No, so we can cure him.
Dr. Vanessa Ambres: It's not possible.
Joe: Maybe not with the medicine you've been giving him, but S.T.A.R. Labs has created a treatment that turns metas back into normal human beings.
Dr. Vanessa Ambres: I can't take you to him.
Cecile: Okay, okay, then help us set up a meet. Look, Dr. Ambres, it's clear. You've come to truly care for Dwyer. So we're asking you now... help us save his life.

Joe: Sue, I thought you and Ralph were laying low until we can clear your name.
Sue: Yeah, Ralph's tracking a lead. Arrest me if you have to. I had to come.
Joe: You mind telling me what's so important that you would risk your freedom?
Sue: Those people in there, those are not my parents. I know it sounds crazy, and when Ralph mentioned pod people a while back, I thought it was nuts too, but I'm telling you, that's not them.
Joe: No, I believe you. I've gotten over 100 calls in the last hour, the exact same complaint. All saying that people they've known for years aren't themselves anymore.
Sue: Do you think this has anything to do with the craziness at McCulloch?
Joe: Damn. I know what's happening.

Cisco: [seeing an old photo of Prank with James Jesse] Man, what were people wearing back then?
Iris: Zoey Clark was the beneficiary to Clark Toys empire.
Joe: Not much of an empire. All those stores closed twenty years ago.

Cecile: S.T.A.R. Labs says that the cure is safe, and it's as easy to give as a flu shot.
Captain: Yeah, well, S.T.A.R. Labs isn't exactly the FDA.
Joe: Look, we have to do it here. Red tape alone, it would take weeks at a medical facility. If we do nothing, there's a whole bunch of citizens who could've been saved that will die on our watch. I'm not having that.
Captain: Well, you clearly believe in this. So I'm willing to, as well. But that means there's going to be a lot of political navigating. So I'll go down to City Hall and brief them in the morning.

Dr. Harry Wells: I would ask you to talk Barry out of reopening the breaches to my Earth.
Joe: [laughs] Ah, I can't do that.
Dr. Harry Wells: No? You can't find a way to change his mind, for both our children's sakes?
Joe: Look, I think it's just as dumb as you do, but I learned a long time ago that I can't talk Barry out of anything once he sets his mind to it. Zoom is terrorizing this other world - your world. He can't let it go. But, look, why don't you do ME a favor? Go with Barry. Help him.
Dr. Harry Wells: Help him? Why would I do that?
Joe: 'Cause he's got a much better chance of defeating Zoom if you're involved.

Joe: [seeing Barry looking at him] What?
Barry: I don't know. There's... this morning, you're, like... glowing.
Joe: What do you mean "glowing"?
Barry: I just mean, like, you got, like, a warmth about you. Like a Lite-Brite.
Joe: There's no warmth. No glow. And I ain't no damn Lite-Brite. You're wasting time. S.T.A.R. Labs.
Barry: [to himself as Joe leaves] Glowing and irritable.

[Barry talks to the Speed Force, appearing before him in the likeness of Joe]
Barry: So you're saying I'm-I'm talking to the source of my power, which just so happens to look like... my adoptive dad? That's trippy.
Joe: [laughs] We pretty much invented trippy here.

Joe: What are you looking for, Cisco?
Cisco: You ever seen "Twin Peaks"? Of course not. Why do I ask? This is an old black masking trick they used for the Man from Another Place, where they record his audio backwards and then play it forwards.
Joe: Like the Ozzy Osbourne records.

Caitlin: [to Barry] We're gonna need to fashion you a new diet based on your metabolic changes.
Cisco: I've done a few calculations. You need to consume an amount equal to roughly 850 tacos - unless we're talking cheese and guac, which is like a whole other set of equations.
Joe: For Mexican, I recommend Tito's. On Bruckner Avenue? Best burrito in the city.

Barry: So it turns out when Iris and I brought back the Speed Force, we also created three new forces. It's our fault that they're out in the world hurting people. Killing them. So I feel like... I have to be the one to take them out.
Joe: These forces, you think they're above saving, too?
Barry: I think it would be safer for everybody if they didn't exist.
Joe: You remember when Wally first showed up? Man, it wasn't just that I'd found out I have a son. I found out I have a son who kept getting his butt in trouble. Boy, he was mad at the world. There was one point he said to me that he wished he had never been born. So I tried to get close. And he pushed me away. And I tried to give him space, then he felt abandoned. No parent is perfect. But one thing I never stopped doing was trying. And look at the man he grew up to be. Strong. Kind. Good.
Barry: Yeah, I get it, I-I do, but... I mean, these forces? They're not my children.
Joe: You sure? You said it yourself. You brought them into this world. Look, I know they've all done terrible things. But what if they could change? You never judge your kids for who they are now. You help them become... who they know they can be when they grow up. So lead with love. After that, it is up to them.

Patty: It's just... I am not really good at lying.
Joe: Well. You better learn. Quick.

Joe: You ever see this woman?
Cecile: [taking the file] Uh... Dr. Vanessa Ambres. Born and raised in Central City, got her MD from McNiter U. Oh, that's interesting. This says she treated Orlin Dwyer and Grace Gibbons on the night of the Enlightenment.
Joe: Yes, and she has been treating Grace ever since, even though she's an ER doctor, and the nurses report a whole slew of drugs missing from the coma ward.
Cecile: You think she's working with Dwyer?
Joe: The guy got stabbed, struck by lightning. He's got a hole in his chest. Somebody has got to be patching him up, right? I think we should be asking the doctor a few questions.
Cecile: All right, let's do it.
Joe: Oh, you want to come with?

Caitlin: We've been attacking this from the wrong direction. We know we need a tech-free projectile to stop DeVoe's satellite, so we've been looking for object when what we really need is a person.

Caitlin: Amunet.
Joe: Amunet Black?
Caitlin: I know she's not the ideal choice, but Amunet's psychic-powered alnico shards are not only deadly powerful, they're completely immune to DeVoe's Kilg%re powers.
Barry: Not ideal? I mean, she kidnapped you. She tried to sell me into meta slavery.
Iris: And she ruined my bachelorette party. I mean...

Iris: I mean, you're right. It's-it's admittedly not as big of a deal, but you know what I'm saying.

Barry: Are you okay?
Caitlin: I will be as soon as we find Icicle. Uh, my mom told me what he stole. It's a prototype cryo-atomizer.
Joe: And what can he do with that?
Caitlin: Nothing good.

Joe: [evading Creyke in the woods] You want to tell me why he's trying to kill us?
Kristen: No idea. Killing's what the Army taught him to do, so... we need to move.
Joe: Hey, if we head north, we could hit the main road in about an hour.
Kristen: I'm not letting him go.
Joe: I'm not going into a suicide mission.
Kristen: Look, you do what you have to do. The twelve soldiers Adam killed were my family. I promised I would do whatever it takes to get them justice. Justice is that way. So while I'm gonna do whatever it takes to finish this, I won't ask you to do the same.
Joe: Hey, hey, I'm not gonna let you go after him alone. I got your back, but, Kramer, if he did everything he could do to make sure you weren't part of Operation Griffin, why would he try to kill you now? He doesn't know who he's hunting.
Kristen: If he doesn't know who he's trying to kill, I know how we can catch him.
Joe: And I know what we're gonna need.
Kristen: Let's go.

Iris: Well, if you keep getting no for an answer, stop asking questions.
Detective: I say that! You're quoting "me" to me?
Iris: What can I say? You are a very smart man.

Joanie: I can't believe you're gonna be a mom again.
Cecile: I know, well, you always wanted a sibling.

Cisco: "Welcome home"? You guys shouldn't have.
Joe: Shame.
Wally: Well, it's good to see you, friend.
Cisco: Wally West? What? Where have you been? Welcome home - "Welcome home." I see. I am crashing *your* party.

Detective: [seeing Army soldiers at CCPD] What's going on?
Officer: I have no idea. But they came in here like they own the place. Been talking to Singh for the last half hour.
Joe: This can't be good.

Cisco: Talking in the third person. That's never a good sign.
Caitlin: You're just mad because he named himself.
Joe: Actually, he didn't. Twenty years ago, Central City was hit by a series of terrorist attacks. One man killed at least ten civilians, two cops. That guy called himself The Trickster.
Cisco: Whoa. Someone was rockin' the unitard.
Caitlin: James Jesse?
Joe: Like Jesse James, only more twisted.

Joe: He made these comments about family and cherishing them. And then the way he picked up Jenna's blanket, and I got this... feeling when I looked in his eyes.
Iris: What... what kind of feeling?
Joe: I think Cicada's a father.

Joe: [to Wally] You tell someone you're gonna be somewhere, you show up.

Joe: So, we gonna talk about it?
Kristen: Talk about what?
Joe: That Creyke said that he saw you die.
Kristen: Just drop it, West. I spent years letting Adam haunt me for the pain that he caused, the lives he took. Now I can put it behind me and get back to doing my job.
Joe: [passing traffic headed the other way] My God.
Kristen: What the hell?
Joe: It looks like the whole city's trying to leave town.
[trying to go around everyone, a car pulls into their lane]
Joe: Kramer, watch out!
[she swerves out of the way]

Kristen: That was close.

Caitlin: I think we can track the nano-cryoparticles inside the atomizer. We just have to re-program an oscilating inversion scanner. Do you mind running to the downstairs storage area and grabbing it?
Barry: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Carla Tannhauser: Wait. You should use a modified field array. There's one in the upstairs archives.
Caitlin: No, no, actually the inversion scanner would work best. Thank you.
Dr. Carla Tannhauser: No, no. Not since we upgraded our field arrays last year. You know, you would know that if you visited more, not just when you needed something.
Caitlin: Apparently only when I need the wrong thing. The inversion scanner.
Dr. Carla Tannhauser: The field array.
Barry: [aware of the awkwardness] I'll get both. Might take my time.
Joe: You need help?
Barry: No.

Joe: Doctor.
Dr. Harrison Wells: Detective. Are you here to make more accusations?
Joe: Here to make amends. I looked up Tess Morgan. I'm sorry for your loss. You two were research partners in Maryland?
Dr. Harrison Wells: Yes, we were. We were... married to the work as much as to each other. After the car accident... I could not go back to the work. Could not go back to our lab.
Joe: So you moved here.
Dr. Harrison Wells: Where no one knew me. Where no one could remind me of what I had lost, and, um... I - I found it difficult, starting over, and rebuilding, and what took me fourteen years, Tess could have done in four. Believe me, she - she... At the time of Nora Allen's murder, the Particle Accelerator that I would eventually create was but a notion, much less a reality, and so whomever or whatever is responsible for her death, it did not originate from me or from my work.
Joe: I'm sorry I doubted you, but I hope I can still count on your help.
Dr. Harrison Wells: You don't give up, do you?
Joe: Nope. Not till I get my man. I owe that to Barry and to Henry.
Dr. Harrison Wells: Barry is lucky to have you on his side, Joe.

Barry: There's something I need to tell you. I confronted DeVoe.
Joe: Oh, come on, Barry. He could get you arrested!
Barry: No, he won't. He wanted me to come.
Caitlin: How do you know?
Barry: Well, for starters, he knows I'm the Flash.
Caitlin: So you were right all along.
Cisco: We didn't believe you.
Joe: I'm sorry.
Barry: Don't be. DeVoe's been playing all of us.
Dr. Harry Wells: How?
Barry: It's his powers. He has an intelligence beyond anything we could've imagined. He's orchestrated everything that we've encountered. He's moved us like chess pieces in a game we didn't even know we were playing.
Iris: How do we stop someone who has super intelligence?
Cisco: We're pretty smart.
Dr. Harry Wells: Maybe we're not.

Joe: Why the charade? Running around dressed like The Flash?
Hunter: To give people hope, Detective.
Joe: Hope?
Hunter: So I could rip it away from them. It's so fun pretending to be a hero.
Caitlin: You are no hero. You're nothing but a monster.

Joe: Bar, I ran into Carla Tannhauser. She told me about her plan to stop these devil flames.
Barry: Mm-hmm.
Joe: And your objection.
Barry: Yeah.
Joe: You wanna tell me your side? Because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that wants to get these damn things off the street.
Barry: Look, I know why she's doing this, and she's not wrong. If there's something out there hurting people, then we need to do everything we can to stop it.
Joe: Right. So what's the problem?
Barry: She's found a way to use Frost's powers to lure the black flame here by boosting Frost's powers to trap it.
Joe: And that's a bad plan because...
Barry: It's too dangerous. I mean, Frost has already been hurt once. If we try this again, something even worse could happen.
Joe: That's not all you're concerned about, is it?
Barry: I mean, my gut told me this was a bad idea. I should have listened to it.
Joe: And you're worried about not being able to stop it because these things were set in motion?
Barry: I'm - I'm team leader. Having a plan that keeps everybody safe is my job. Only today, I don't know how. And now our only solution is putting a team member's life in jeopardy.
Joe: Mm. Are you talking about Frost or Iris? Mm-hmm. I'm worried about her too. But you were the one who also left your wife in Coast City asking about the same question you're asking about Frost. Is it safe for her to continue her mission or pull the plug? Look, I'm not the boss here, so I can't make the decision for you. But I can tell you this. Sometimes, the hardest part about being a leader is letting go and trusting the one you've trained to make the call themselves. And then you be there for them in a blink of an eye.

Joe: Is there any other way out of here?
Dr. Harry Wells: No, the breach room was designed to be sealed off.
Iris: All right, look, if it's me that he wants, I'll just lead him away.
Joe: No, you won't. You'll never even make it past that door. If he came back from the dead and still wants you, what makes you think he's gonna let you go now?

Barry: I got your text. You talked to Ambres?
Joe: Cecile and I together got through to her. She's gonna show us where to find Dwyer.
Barry: Joe, that's amazing.
Joe: Yeah. Ambres told us something else. Dwyer's niece, Grace? She's a meta.

Cicada: Detective Joseph West.
Joe: What do you want?
Cicada: To finish what I started. The meta-human called Vibe. Call him here now.
Joe: I can't. I don't even know him.
[Cicada throws down photos of Joe and Vibe together]
Cicada: You were saying?
Joe: Yes, I mean, he helps CCPD, but it's not like I have a Vibe phone so I can just call him up. He's just a masked do-gooder that shows up at crime scenes.
Cicada: This could be a crime scene.

Joe: How about now? Your powers picking up our grandbaby?
Cecile: No, baby, not since the last time you asked me like 30 seconds ago. Hey, at least she's not giving birth while the Thinker is trying to take over the city.
Joe: That was a hell of a night.
Cecile: Yup.
Nora: Well, today is pretty weird too. I mean, I'm about to be born on the other side of that wall. Shrap. Am I breaking timeline rules by being here?
Chester P. Runk: You -- a little -- I wasn't gonna say much, but it's fine.
Allegra: You're fine.
Chester P. Runk: We fixed it theoretically.

Joe: How is it possible that Deacon's a meta if he didn't get his powers from Wells' particle accelerator blowing up?
Barry: However it happened, we will figure it out, and we will be ready.
Iris: After Cisco gets all that tech out of your suit. You don't need fancy gadgets to be the Flash. You are the Flash.
Barry: No, we are.
Joe: Did I miss something?

[the Flash's suit inflates into a raft]
Joe: What the hell does he need a raft for, Cisco?
Cisco: He runs on water. He might lose his speed out there. What's he gonna do then? He might drown.
Caitlin: You couldn't just put an oxygen tank in the suit?
Cisco: That's a good idea.

Adam: Well, that was fun! What? Nothing? Still looking for a way out of this? There isn't one. Oh, you can try. You could shoot me. Light me on fire. I know it's a trap. But I've died before. 17 times, actually. So why don't you give me your best shot. 'Cause I can't be killed. Hmm?
Kristen: Is that why you killed twelve innocent soldiers from Fort Dakota? Because you knew they'd die and you wouldn't?
Adam: [she turns around] Kristen?
[approaching from behind, Joe fires a restraining anklet, and she takes his weapon]
Kristen: You were like a brother to me, Adam. How could you do it?
Adam: I'll tell you. Right after you tell me who the hell you are. 'Cause Kristen Kramer died in that explosion. And that means you're dead.
Joe: What's he on about, Kramer?
Kristen: I don't know. And I don't care. All I care about is why you killed our unit. Was it money? If you were in trouble, I would have helped.
Adam: [laughing] Trouble? Listen. I'm immortal. And once I discovered that, I realized the world was meant for me because I deserved it.
Kristen: What you deserve is life in prison.
Adam: Oh, really? I gave my life to the Army. And what did it get me, huh? Nightmares and a kick in the teeth. That's when I realized I could go down broke or live it up rich. 'Cause there's plenty of folks out there willing to pay for my new talents.

Joe: [discussing Plunder] Look, I am as overprotective a father as you can get, but I got to he honest, Bar. I'm... I agree with Wally.
Barry: I don't know, Joe. Let's just see what else we can find on this guy before we let Wally loose.
Joe: Okay. Well, remember the best way to teach somebody something is to throw them in the deep end. That's how I taught you how to swim.
Barry: That was... I'm still mad about that.
Joe: You can swim now, can't you?
Barry: Yeah.

Joe: They took Julian to County General. He's still out cold. How hard did you hit him?
Barry: I don't know. I didn't mean to knock him out.

Cisco: I saw something weird tonight.
Joe: Yeah, Cisco, I saw it too.
Cisco: No, I mean, when the Flash and the man in yellow were going full on bumper cars on each other, I was watching the electricity coming off of them - yellow and red electricity. When Barry was a kid, he said he saw red and yellow lightning in his house the night his mother died.
Joe: [realizing] There were two of them.
Cisco: The man in yellow may have killed Barry's mother but... there was another speedster there that night.

Barry: Wally's a determined kid.
Joe: Yeah, determined to get himself killed.
Barry: Or determined to help people - and be glad, or, you know, I would not be standing here right now.
Joe: He was lucky tonight. I don't want to see the day when he isn't.

Iris: How's Caitlin and her mom?
Barry: Caitlin is still running some tests, but she thinks Carla's gonna be okay. I mean, as okay as she can be given the circumstances.
Iris: Why was Cicada II even there tonight? I mean, why attack Icicle and Caitlin?
Sherloque: Perhaps the ice meta were not the primary target.
Barry: What could Cicada II want with the cryo-atomizer?
Joe: Well, we're not gonna figure it out tonight. So let's rest tonight. Are you coming back to the house?
Iris: Um...
[glancing at Barry]
Iris: No, I'm gonna stay at the loft tonight.
Barry: You are?
Iris: Yeah. We should talk.

Joe: Security guard found him here this morning. We haven't IDed him yet. His personal effects are scattered everywhere, so we didn't find his wallet. But we may find it when we find the rest of his briefcase... and his missing hand.
Barry: Well, judging by that avulsion and the claw marks, I'd say a large predatory animal did this. But whatever it was would have to have four-inch canines, a bite force of 5,000 PSI, and weigh over a ton. That animal doesn't exist.
Joe: What the hell did this?

Joe: Cecile's in her third trimester, so it's definitely getting serious.
Barry: You guys have any names picked out yet?
Joe: Uh, yeah. A few.
Barry: [waiting in anticipation] Come on, I'm not gonna tell anybody.
Joe: No, you're not, because you're not gonna know it until Cecile tells you.

Barry: [about Wally] Yeah, he just found the best dad he could wish for.
Joe: Oh, you say that now. You didn't always think that.
Barry: Well, you were pretty strict, that's for sure, but strict isn't always a bad thing, especially when you know it's coming from love.

Captain: The mayor's offered me the job, as the new chief of police.
Cecile: What?
Joe: Dave.
Cecile: David. Congratulations.
Barry: That's great.
Captain: Thank you, thanks. Of course that makes me responsible for finding my own replacement. And, uh... I would like that to be you, Joe.
Joe: Re-replace you? As-as Captain?
Cecile: Captain Joe West. Oh, I like the sound of that.
Captain: And don't worry. If things get dicey, as they tend to around here, you'll have plenty of help.
[to Barry]
Captain: Isn't that right, Flash?
[Barry stammers]
Captain: Oh come on, Barry. I'm a detective too.

Joe: Killer Frost? You're under arrest for your crimes against the city.
Frost: What? No. No, I'm one of the good guys now.
Joe: Tell it to Judge Tanaka. We have a witness. One who told us everything you've done.
Frost: Who turned me in? Was it Mark?
Joe: No. It was Caitlin Snow.

Joe: Barry, what do you got?
Barry: Bombers typically have their own unique signatures. Crimped wires, fragmentation. The level of sophistication is telling once I've analyzed it. You show me a bomb, I can usually find a clue in it.
Joe: It sounds like there's a "but" coming.
Barry: Yeah, I haven't found any sign of an oxidizing agent. It's as if the floor just blew itself up.
Joe: Things don't just blow up.

Cecile: Oh, no, Caitlin, please don't think "relax". If you were nine months pregnant and you suddenly started craving Master Kush and surf, I don't think you would relax.
Caitlin: Actually, I was thinking relaxin. The hormone? As we get closer to your due date, your body releases relaxin to loosen the ligaments to make it easier to deliver the baby. It's like you're literally stretching.
Joe: So you think this hormone is stretching her meta powers?
Caitlin: Yes. I think instead of just reading people's minds, she's now inhabiting them.
Cecile: Great. That's just great. I mean, that's just one more thing for me to talk about in therapy. I mean, can you believe what Dr. Finkel said this morning?
Joe: Babe, we didn't see her this morning.
Caitlin: Uh, I did.
Cecile: She thinks that I'm repressing something. I mean, repressing something? How crazy is that? Oh, my god. This Erlenmeyer flask is covered in water spots.
Caitlin: Yeah, she's definitely me.

Cecile: Joe, what's going on? Why'd you want me to meet you here?
Joe: Look, I know the last time we tried to work together went a bit south.
Cecile: Oh, a bit?
Joe: You're right. I'm sorry, Cecile. I let my pride get in the way, and I didn't lean on your strengths when I should have. But you know me; I'm not a man who makes the same mistake twice. So...
[indicating Dr. Ambres in the interrogation room]
Joe: Would you do me the honor of joining me in this interrogation? You do what you do best, I'll take care of the rest.

Reverse: Just so we're clear, after I kill you, I'm going to kill them, and then I'm going to kill your father. I always win, Flash.
[gunshot fires, Eddie has shot himself]
Iris: Aagh! Eddie! Oh, my... !
Joe: Eddie! What did you do? What did you do? What did you do?
Detective: No such thing as a coincidence.
Barry: What's happening?
Reverse: [dissolving] Cisco, help me.
Cisco: Eddie's his ancestor. If Eddie dies, he'll never been born, and... He's being erased from existence.

Joe: What does a terrible idea look like to you, Cisco?

Allegra: Iris and the others, they're still Eva's prisoners.
Barry: We're gonna get them back. And remember, we still have one thing that Eva doesn't. Hope.
Cecile: [entering] We also have reinforcements.
Harrison: Oh!
Barry: [surprised to see who else enters] Joe. How are you here?
Joe: Well, it turns out that when the guy that's trying to kill you kicks the bucket, they lift the protection detail.
Harrison: That makes sense.
Joe: Nash.
Harrison: [hugs Joe] Hey, man. Yeah.
Joe: [hugs Allegra] Hey.
Barry: And just in time. Team needs you now more than ever.
Joe: Well, let's go save some people we love.

Detective: Oh, so he was strangled.
Barry: Mm-hmm. By someone very strong and very large.
Detective: Or something?
Barry: This wasn't Grodd.
Detective: Oh, thank God.

Joe: I remember when you were this small. Holding you for the first time. Bring you home. Now, look at you. I'm a granddad and you're a mom. You're not my baby girl anymore.
Iris: Yes, I am, Dad. I always will be.

Detective: Where's Barry?
Joe: He should be here any second. I sent him out for...
Barry: [superspeeds into the house] Pizza!
Cisco: What?
Detective: From Coast City?
Barry: Supposedly the best in the west.
Cisco: Why did I not think of this before? Come to papa.

Joe: We did it? We brought dark matter into Central City?
Barry: When you pulled me out of the Speed Force, yeah.
Caitlin: All the people on that bus, we turned them into metas.

Joe: I don't suppose Icicle left any frozen fingerprints behind?
Barry: No, but this docking station is lined with a carbon-filled kapton polymide. NASA uses it to build probes meant for the coldest reaches of space.
Joe: There's a lot of fresh puddles in here. You think he stole whatever kept this place cold?
Barry: Try way beyond cold.
Joe: Why would he want it?
Barry: Uh, you're gonna have to ask Carla when she's done filing the theft report, or Caitlin when she gets here. I'm not sure about much lately.

Sherloque: This current should heat up the copper wiring of his suit's circuitry, and we just need to heat it up enough so that his speed healing kicks in.
Joe: Is this safe?
Sherloque: Safer than dying.
[contacting the wires with Barry's suit]
Sherloque: Come on, monsieur Allen.
Joe: Barry?
Sherloque: Come on.
Joe: Barr!
The: [jerking awake with a gasp] Icicle. He has them.
Sherloque: [catching Flash as he stands up unsteadily] No, no, no, no, monsieur.
Joe: No, no, wait. No, wait.
Sherloque: In time, in time. First, you rest. Then we bring them home together.

Cecile: Well, well, well. It is nice to see someone back at his desk.
Joe: Oh, hey, foxy. It's good to be back. After three months of sipping Wally's Tibetan butter tea, I actually kind of missed this breakroom coffee.

Dr. Martin Stein: This is our Earth. Let's call it Earth One. And this second Earth, let's call it Earth Two. This is where Jay claims to be from. And these other Earths - three, four, five, to infinity, all of them - are nearly identical to ours and they all exist at the same time, giving us endless alternatives to what we have here. For example, uh, the Joe West on Earth Two, your doppelgänger, he might not be a detective. He could be a Nobel Prize-winning physicist. And you, the Barry Allen here is The Flash, but over there he could be an electrician.
Detective: So, I'm assuming that the people on all these other Earths work to make money to pay bills and such.

Joe: I need your help defusing an explosive.
Harrison: Uh, what kind of a device is it, Captain?
Joe: Uh, it is a Michael 112 composition Charlie 4 block demolition charge.
Harrison: [looking it up with his gauntlet] C4 block demolition charge. Yeah. Got it. Okay, so, easy. Open the outer panel. You're gonna see four wires. Pull the green one.
Joe: [opening the panel] There are more than four wires, and they're all green.

Joe: Hey, Caitlin?
Caitlin: Hmm?
Joe: Do you have any ibuprofen? Reading up on all this organic matter has given me an organic migraine.

Barry: Aren't you the one who told me life isn't about playing defense? Sometimes the only way to succeed is by working the offense.
Joe: I think at the time we were talking about your high school football tryouts.
Barry: You said you'd never bring that up again.

Barry: The Arrow gets results.
Joe: He's a crazy man.
Barry: Look, I don't actually disagree with you at the moment, but we wouldn't even have Bivolo's name if it weren't for the Arrow; so, maybe instead of judging him, you should just be thanking him.
Joe: Two things I won't be doing in this life - playing professional baseball and thanking that lunatic.

Joe: He called himself The Trickster too, just like you.
James: He is nothing like me, Detective. Nothing!
Joe: Do you know who he is?

Julian: [holds up a vile] Actually, uh, voilà.

Julian: This, Detective, is the cure for Caitlin.
Iris: You're kidding. You figured it out?
Julian: Not by myself. With the help of... Caitlin's mother. This is experimental gene therapy. This? This will re-write Caitlin's meta-DNA. This will bring back... Caitlin.

Caitlin: How are you feeling Cecile?
Cecile: Like - like I don't know if I can do this.
Joe: You shouldn't have to. You should be able to have our baby just like any other parent, in a hospital, or a regular bad, and not with all of this.
[to Marlize]
Joe: Hey, look what you've done to our friend, my son, my daughter, the love of my life, everybody in this damn city.
Iris: Dad...
Joe: How could you ever think that this would be better for humanity?
Iris: Dad, what did you say to me when Barry came out of the Speed Force? You said, "Strength without faith means nothing." We need to have faith that we can get through this. Together.

Barry: I was ready to give up on her. You know, I mean, if I'm ready to do that, it makes me feel like... even after everything we've been through, I'm not a good parent. You know, I mean, maybe I never will be.
Joe: [laughing] Come on, Barry. You know that's not true. You're going to be an amazing father.
Barry: I wanted her to leave. The second that she got here, I did, I... I've held back from her. It... it still doesn't feel right when she calls me "dad".
Joe: Well, you didn't call me "dad" 'till... i-it was here, in this room, right after you got your powers. But you know why that was. You already had a dad; Henry. And when the whole world thought that that man was a criminal, Barr, you... you thought he was perfect.
Barry: Do you think Iris is right? Nora's plan, Thawne's plan, could be a good thing?
Joe: I don't trust that man. I never have and I never will. But I do... trust my granddaughter. And if we're gonna bring Nora home, Barr... you're gonna have to trust her, too.

Plumber: You know this house is, uh...
Joe: Bitchin'?

Joe: So, Cecile has brought me up to speed. Cicada; been very busy.
Iris: Yeah, well... you know, Team Flash will figure out a way to beat him.
Joe: But Jonesy was helping him right under our nose, and that got me thinking, Cicada's eluded capture for so long that I'm thinking that he's still getting help from somebody.
Iris: [evasively] I want more coffee. I'm gonna make some more coffee. Yeah, I'll bring you a fresh cup.

Jay: His name is Adam Fells, but he calls himself Geomancer.
Caitlin: So this meta-human is a breacher?
Jay: No, Fells died on my Earth. This must be his Earth-1 doppleganger.
Joe: Well, at least now we know his name. Might be a little easier to track him down.
Caitlin: Yeah, but with Barry gone, how are we gonna stop him even if we do find him?
Joe: Well, Jay, you could shoot yourself up with that stuff. What was it? Velocity...
Caitlin: Velocity-6.
Jay: Ah. Cannot take V-6.
Joe: But it gave you your speed back long enough to get that bullet out of Wells. Saved his life.
Jay: Joe, don't ask me to take Velocity-6 again.
Joe: Look, Jay, I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but Barry is protecting your world, and our world needs a Flash right about now.

Barry: So if I go back and save my mom, my dad doesn't go to prison. I never live with Joe and Iris.
Cisco: You might never meet me... or Caitlin or Ronnie.
Dr. Martin Stein: Truth is, there's no real way of knowing what your life will be.
Joe: There's no choice here, Barry. You have to do this. You gotta change the past.

Nora: How could Vickie not know she killed two people?
Barry: There was a time in Central City where not all meta attacks were public knowledge.
Nora: Why not? I mean, people should know...
Joe: Former mayor Bellows tried to keep certain things out of the media. He said he didn't want to create a panic. Turns out he had metas on the payroll. Didn't want the heat.

Joe: You haven't said anything to Iris about all this, have you?
Barry: No, I made you a promise. I keep my promises.
Joe: Keep on lying like that. You're liable to get struck by lightning again.

Joe: Why'd you do that?
Iris: Thanks for the hang? Is he your son or your age-inappropriate buddy?
Joe: Look, I know the dynamic is weird. I'm just trying to figure it out.
Iris: From my perspective, it seems like you're ignoring something that could... Oh, I don't know, get Wally killed.
Joe: The fact that Wally even wants to get to know me is the big win here. So, in the future, could you try not chasing him out of the house?

Dr. Harry Wells: I get that a lot.

Joe: Creyke was like a brother to you. What... what drove him?
Kristen: Adam and I are both Wet'suwet'en First Nations. Adam loved open waters. He wanted to join the Navy and followed me into the Army. Said he didn't trust anyone else to look out for me.
Joe: I had an uncle who used to take me fishing every summer on a schooner. Sailors take naming their vessels as seriously as they name their firstborn. Did Adam have a call sign?
Kristen: Yeah, Rasputin.
Joe: Rasputin.

Joe: Yo, a schooner named Rasputin is registered in Midway City six weeks after Operation Griffin.
Kristen: He's been a few hours away this whole time. There's no way in hell I'm letting him get away again.
Joe: Kramer. What are you gonna do when you find him? This has to be about justice. If this is gonna be about vengeance, you can do this by yourself.

Captain: I want all units, every uniform, every detective searching that area right now. Somehow we need to alert The Flash.
Joe: Something tells me he already knows.

Cecile: Babe, this is a first!
Joe: We've worked together before.
Cecile: We have, Detective, but anytime we did anything even close to this, I didn't have my abilities.

Detective: The victim is David Rutenberg, security systems expert, and guess who's on his list of known associates.
Barry: Hm?
Detective: Lewis Snart.
Patty: Lewis Snart. Isn't he related to Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold?
Detective: Please don't call him that.

Joe: [on the phone with Barry] Of course I'm really here. Barr. You sounding kinda strange. You okay?
Barry: [zooping in and hugging him] I am now, yeah.
Joe: [awkwardly] Yeah... okay. You wanna tell me what's really going on?
Barry: You don't remember, either. Thawne. Uh, he... he changed things. Made me think I was crazy. He took away my life, piece by piece, until I lost everything. Thawne started his own Reverse-Flashpoint. Joe, you died.

Barry: What's happening?
Joe: Mayor Bellows is on his re-election campaign.
Mayor: Detective Joe West. Keep up the good work. What do you say, Joe?
[the reporters all turn to look at him]
Joe: [uncomfortable in the spotlight] I'll... I'll do that.
Mayor: [the reporters turn back] And that's why he's not a politician.

Joe: [given an EMF gun] How do you use this?
Dr. Harry Wells: All right, so you aim it, and then you pull the trigger.
Joe: Smart-ass.

Barry: You guys, now that I am free, I don't care what I do. I'm just so happy to be back with all of you again.
Cisco: Team Flash.
Joe: Today, we celebrate Barry. Tomorrow, we go back to the man that framed you.
Iris: I'll drink to that.
Caitlin: Here, here.
[Barry has a worried look]
Caitlin: You okay, Barry?
Barry: Yeah, it's DeVoe.
Iris: Barry, we're gonna stop him, I know we will.
Barry: No, it's not that, he... There was nothing keeping him from going inside the meta-wing and absorbing the powers of every meta in Iron Heights. Peek-A-Boo, Top, Weather Wizard. Yeah, he could have stolen their powers and more, but he didn't. He only wants the bus metas. He wants their powers for something.
Cisco: We know a bus meta.
[Ralph walks into the house]
Ralph: Hey, guys. Sorry I'm late. Just couldn't get this left glute to shape-shift back to its normal, perky...
[realizes that everyone is staring at him]
Ralph: Why is everyone looking at me like I'm a dead man?

Cecile: There's not gonna be any surprises. This is gonna be totally sick.
Joe: Sick? Are you feeling sick?
Cecile: Nah bra, Nah. This delivery is gonna be sick. Having this baby is gonna be like one epic wave.
Joe: Are you okay? You're scaring me.

Joe: You always want to be the person who sees the best in people. I have been a cop for twenty-five years. All I can see is the flaws, the lies, the dark thoughts that people think I don't see. I wish I could be you. As fast as you are, THAT is your real power. Don't let Wells take that from you. I don't know why he's helping us. All that matters is that he is.

Detective: What kind of a tool steals a yellow Humvee?
Joe: What kinda tool BUYS a yellow Humvee?

Dr. Harry Wells: Have you had any luck locating my daughter?
Joe: Not yet, but I circulated her picture through every department in the region, and I reached out to some friends in Keystone.
Dr. Harry Wells: She's smart. She's gonna know how to stay hidden. She's...
Joe: We'll find her.

Joe: [searching for Grodd in the sewers] I can't believe I'm down here lookin' for a supernatural gorilla. I'm terrified of regular gorillas.

Joe: You know the difference between right and wrong and you weren't willing to blur the lines between the two. That's the kind of man you are and that's what makes you different than the Arrow. So, please, no more walks on the dark side.

[first lines]
Joe: Cecile, are you sure we even need a crib? I used to plop Iris on some cushions and call it a night.
Cecile: Well, I'm glad to hear you got all your parenting mistakes out of the way with your first kid.
Joe: [laughing] I think she turned out pretty good.

Joe: 15 thou. My great uncle paid less for this whole place. I guess I'm gonna have to break open the piggy bank.

Caitlin: I was able to trace the energy to a nearby town.
Speed: Masonville?
Iris: Cisco and Chester were installing an early warning system by there.
Frost: Looks like something triggered the amplifier's sensor.
Caitlin: If I can access the data drive, I might be able to figure out what set this off.
Joe: Temporal, as in time travel?
Caitlin: Yeah, but this energy doesn't match Psych or Fuerza, which means...
Iris: Which means that we're dealing with a new Force of Nature that can alter time.

Chief: Uh, okay, that's enough of that. I'm calling in a 10-85. Delay due to coffee break. You, my friend, need to get out of this house badly.
Joe: Man, let me just clean up this vacuum mess.
Chief: Oh, no, Joe, I'm not asking. This is an order from the Chief of Police. Let's roll!
Joe: All right, you're buying.
Chief: Don't I always?
Joe: True.

Barry: You got a sec?
Joe: Yeah, what's up, Captain?
Barry: Eh.
Joe: Man, that never gets old.
Barry: Yeah, it kinda does.

Joe: How are you feeling?
Wally: Tired, but fine, I guess.
Joe: So you don't notice anything different?
Wally: Uh, no.
Joe: I mean, I want you to know you can come and talk to me if you're scared or... you have questions about how your body's changing.
Iris: Oh...
Wally: I think you're a little late for the puberty talk, Dad. I've seen the Internet.

Joe: You never judge your kids for who they are now. You help them become who they know they can be when they grow up. So lead with love. After that, it's up to them.

Cisco: So, the reason you didn't have your powers is because there was a dampener in the mask. You see?
Jay: I don't want to see this thing ever again.
[vibrates his hand through the mask, breaking it in half]
Cisco: So your powers are back.
Joe: I see Jay - excuse me - Hunter stole your color scheme too.
Jay: He stole a lot of things that were mine, except for that. That's, um - that's all him.
Iris: He said it was his father's from the war.
Dr. Harry Wells: Ironically, on my - on our Earth - this helmet stood for hope.
Jay: Yeah?
Dr. Harry Wells: Yeah.
Jay: Maybe I can continue on that sentiment, take something from him, for a change, make it my own.
Caitlin: It suits you.
Jay: Thank you, all of you, for saving me from Zoom, especially you, Flash.
Barry: You're welcome, Flash.
Jay: Now all I have to do is find my way home.
Wally: And where's that?
Jay: I think you would call it Earth-3.
Cisco: Uh-huh. Well, I can get you to Earth-2.
Dr. Harry Wells: My daughter and I can help you with the rest.
Jesse: We can?
Dr. Harry Wells: Yes, we can. We're going home.

Joe: Scared is a good thing. Scared keeps us alive.

Leonard: My guess is the power source is most likely here.
Joe: Why there?
Leonard: Because it's the deepest part of the facility. And if it's as valuable as you say it is, then the deepest recesses of any facility are usually the most secure.
Cisco: Hmm. Smart, Snart.
[he snickers]
Cisco: Smart, Snart.
[seeing no one else is laughing, he awkwardly turns to leave]
Cisco: I'm gonna keep hacking away and find out for sure.
Barry: Do you have any idea what else might be down there?
Leonard: Doesn't matter. There are only four rules you need to remember: make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw away the plan. Follow my lead and you'll be fine.

Clifford: Good evening, Detective West. Something tells me you're not here for more of my wife's world-famous lemonade.
Joe: Where's my son?
Clifford: Mr. Allen, has he gone missing?
Joe: He's not missing. He was taken. By someone I am eager to meet.
Clifford: Thinly veiled threats aside, Mr. West, I'm afraid I have not a clue as to Barry Allen's location. I do know, however, that your colleague is located behind my front porch carrying an ionic sub-repeating pulse firearm.
[he laughs as Harry enters with said weapon]
Clifford: The bird bath has a much better vantage point. A smart man would have taken up position there.
Dr. Harry Wells: A smarter man would understand that this gun has no safety, and my finger is still on the trigger.

Barry: I'm dealing with a lot right now.
Joe: Look, I know you are. Believe me, I'm dealing with it, too. I've always had a very simple set of beliefs. Gravity makes things fall, water makes things wet, and, up until a few weeks ago, I believed the fastest man could run a mile in four minutes, not four seconds.
Barry: I could do it in three.
[Joe glares at Barry]
Barry: [realizing] Not relevant.

Joe: Babe, do you remember dancing at your cousin's wedding?
Cecile: What, when you were stepping on my toes until we finally got in sync?

Joe: [about Wally] Damn. How fast is he going?
Cisco: Faster than Barry could at the beginning.

Joe: There's only two boxes left.
Barry: You know, at this rate, we'll be finished by Easter.
Joe: Don't even.
[Barry decorates the Christmas tree in super-speed]
Joe: Okay, the only red-suited dude I want in this house right now is Kris Kringle, you got it?

Joe: What the hell is wrong with you two? Since when do we let people die?
Iris: Dad, you know who Thawne is.
Joe: Yeah, I do. And that man came to you for help, which means you're obligated to try and save him.
Barry: Joe, he killed you. No, I know you don't remember, but I do. If we don't let this happen now, our family will never be safe.
Joe: You don't think I want to see him dead either? 'Cause I do. If I learned one thing being a cop, it's that you can't just protect the people you think are good. You have to protect everyone. That's what heroes do.
Barry: I know that.
Joe: Do you? A hero is not just in the name, Barry, or in a red suit. It's the choices we make that decide who and what we become. You know that.
Iris: Dad, we don't have a choice. Thawne isn't giving us one.
Joe: You always have a choice! Now, did either one of you even try to think of a way to save him? You already found one.
Barry: Yeah. We could save him if we take his speed away, permanently.
Iris: Just like Jefferson Pierce did to you.
Barry: Listen, Joe, wait...
Joe: Hey. Uh-uh. This decision is for the two of you. But I can tell you one thing: if you let Thawne die, you don't have to worry about destroying our family.

Barry: Hey, look, I'm sorry about, um... how I was acting earlier. I just... seeing Nora looking so much like him
[Thawne]
Barry: ...
Joe: I get it, Barr. That guy's always gonna be in your head. Mine, too. And you were right. Nora broke the law, and there should be repercussions for that. But whenever you guys step out of bounds, I always have to remind myself... the detective side says "There's the law", but the father side says "There's also what's right". And I'm always gonna choose to be your father first.

Joe: Uh, those who wear capes and costumes aren't the only ones who keep us safe. There are some unsung heroes as well, like this man. This man has solved crimes to give mourning families justice. He's a CCPD member who's never given up on a single case. This man has saved Central City more times than anyone knows. So it's time we thank him. It's time that I thank him. So without further ado...

Joe: [leaving with Wally to face Alchemy] Hey, you remember when I said that you remind me of myself when I was a kid? I was never this brave.

Joe: That was them. Redmond, Oregon. The government tried to cover it up. What? I watch Syfy channel.

Cisco: Sorry I'm late, the curls were not cooperating this morning.
[notices blood-spattered crime scene]
Cisco: Oh good Lord! Why would you show me that?
Joe: We think this is because of some weird techincal glitch, and you're our weird tech expert.
Cisco: This completely ruined Sriracha for me.

Quentin: Okay, I'm gonna have to call this one in.
Joe: I can't let you do that. I'm asking you, cop to cop, keep this under wraps. Forget you ever saw it.
Quentin: West, I can't do this.
Joe: Listen, Lance, if this is who I think it is, anybody who knows about this is in a hell of a lot of danger, including my daughter. As mad as you are at Laurel, I can't imagine you wouldn't do anything to protect her.

Joe: What kind of criminal mastermind has a welcome mat?

Detective: Something's wrong. Why are you happy?
Sue: Who, me? Oh, well, that's easy. I'm young, I'm rich, I'm a total dime. Oh, and before you so rudely destroyed another one of my brand new phones, I hit the panic button.
Joe: Hey, Detective Pretty Boy.
[blasts Eddie with a ray gun]

Kristen: [rescuing Joe from a Godspeed clone] How did I... . what just happened?
Joe: You just ran as fast as the Flash.

[shows her dad an action figure of The Flash]
Iris: I had to fight some old lady for the last one. They didn't have any Green Arrow dolls.
Joe: Don't nobody want a toy of that crazy man.

Joe: So when were you planning on telling me you took down Mardon?
Barry: I-I just haven't a chance yet.
Joe: You got sidetracked, you mean?
Barry: No, Joe, you can't be mad.
Joe: I'm not mad. But I am curious. I mean, you were acting so weird at the crime scene.
Barry: I always act weird.
Joe: Okay. Weirder.

Caitlin: Looks like Axel was born nine months after Zoey was last seen. I bet she left to help take care of her son.
Iris: And she came back to bust him out of prison, and pick up where she left off.
Joe: Well, I'm digging into CCPD files to see if she had any other known associates.
Dr. Harry Wells: I'll set the satellite to do a search grid.

Cisco: [at a bloody crime scene] Oh, good Lord! Why would you show me that?
Joe: We think this is because of some weird technical glitch, and you're our weird tech expert.
Cisco: This completely ruins sriracha for me.

Joe: Not to sound like a broken record, but where the hell are these new metas coming from?
Cisco: You know what? Maybe the scanners in the suit picked something up.
Barry: You said you took all the tech out.
Cisco: Okay, well, I left something in. Okay? Sue me.

Joe: Do you really think you have what it takes to be part of my task force?
Patty: I know it, sir.
Joe: Well, I always check the jacket of anyone I'm considering for it. In my research on you, I found out we got a mutual acquaintance. Mark Mardon. I need you to be honest with me here. Why you wanna do this?
Patty: Mark Mardon killed my dad. He had a little shoe shop down on Chesterfield. It was a cash business; one night, he went to Fairfield Bank to make his weekly deposit, and the Mardon brothers showed up. While he was waiting in line, Mark shot my dad, in the face, for a few hundred dollars. Then, a few months later, Mark and his brother got powers. Two murderers got superpowers. So that's why I'm here, sir. That's why I'm so hell-bent on being on your task force. 'Cause there's some bad people out there, and they can do... anything. And I may not have powers, but I want to stop them. You're the only person I know who wants to do that, too.

Barry: He calls himself "The Arrow" now.
Joe: Oh, does he... "Flash?"
Barry: Wait, what's the problem?
Dr. Harrison Wells: We don't trust him.
Barry: You guys don't even know him.
Joe: I know that he was wanted for murder in at least twelve different cases dating back three years.
Dr. Harrison Wells: I know there's been at least two major terrorist attacks in Starling since he became active.
Barry: All right, the cops there are cool with him now. He doesn't kill people anymore.
Joe: And what about all the criminals that he put arrows through? Those, what, don't count?
Barry: He's a hero, Joe.
Dr. Harrison Wells: You're a hero, Barry. You offer protection, hope, light. What that man does is carry out a dark reckoning for his city. It is a brutal, violent vision of justice, one we do not share. You truly think he's a hero? Fine, so be it, but he's not the kind you should be looking up to.

Clifford: Now, I do have a restraining order against your son. Shall I add you to the list?
Joe: If something happened to Barry, there ain't a restraining order on Earth that would keep me from getting you.

Joe: So cute. You guys are trying not to be affectionate in front of me.
Patty: Oh, no, we're just showing some professionalism.
Barry: Yeah.

Joe: Hey. What's wrong?
Cecile: There's a supersonic jet about to leave a secret Black Hole site in the badlands, and it is loaded with with all of Carver's remaining tech. But that's the only thing it's carrying. Rosa Dillon planted a bomb onboard. If it blows over the city, hundreds of people will die.
Joe: And the Flash isn't fast enough to stop it.

Gypsy: What the hell were you thinking?
Joe: Now is not the time, Gypsy.
Gypsy: You know, you got a really messed up sense of justice for a cop?
Joe: Watch yourself. I took two oaths in my life. One, to uphold the law. The other, to protect my family. Guess which one takes priority?
Gypsy: That was my prisoner.
Joe: He was my prisoner too, and you're on *my* Earth. He has information that can save Iris's life, so I don't give a damn! It's because of you he's on the loose.
Gypsy: Because of me? No, no, because of you. You opened that door! You let him out! That is on you, Detective!

Sterling: I'm only taking the ethically-sourced, conflict-free diamonds. No blood diamonds for me. No, sir.
Joe: Listen. Lower your weapon before you have an accident.
Sterling: Why don't you lower your weapon?
[accidentally dropping his gun]
Sterling: Yow!
[as it hits the ground, the bullet in the chamber discharges]
Nora: [zooping in with Bart, in Flashtime] Stop! If Grandpa Joe was never supposed to be here, then the gun was never supposed to fire at all. We can't cause another temporal flux.
Bart: Oh, great, you're just now mentioning that.
Nora: Well, I tried to when we were in the coffee line, but someone was too busy flirting!
Bart: What do we do?
Nora: Okay, um, we need to examine our variables and we need to form a plan. First, we need to consider...
Bart: Oh, my God, I got this.
[he zoops over and pulls Joe out of the bullet's path, planting a kiss on Joe's cheek]
Sterling: [the scene returns to real-time] I am so sorry. Those things are way heavier than they look in the movies.

Joe: Barry, don't you think Iris would recognize you voice?
Barry: [vibrating his voice] No, I can do this cool thing with my vocal cords, where I vibrate them so I sound like this. I know. It's cool, it's cool.
Joe: Whoa.

Barry: Joe, what I said about you not being my father...
Joe: Barry, I know. I know I'm not your father.
Barry: You're right, you're not. You're just the man who kept me fed and in clothes, who sat beside my bed at night until I fell asleep because I was afraid of the dark, helped me with my homework. You taught me how to drive, and shave... and you dropped me off at college. Sounds a lot like a dad to me.

Cisco: Why is it that bad guys always insist on having the creepiest hideouts?
Joe: 'Cause they crazy.

Joe: Well, we may not know where Scudder moved the Black Hole tech, but I bet you Dillon does. I'm gonna go in, see if I can get her to talk to me.
Cecile: Actually, Captain... I am.
Joe: Right. When you were a prosecutor, you put Dillon in Iron Heights.
Cecile: And now I'm her defense attorney that's gonna keep her out and get her to tell me where that tech is.
Joe: That's my girl.

Detective: And the Flash. Do you know who he is?
Joe: Yeah, I do. He's the guy that saved both of our lives tonight.

Ralph: [sneezes his face into his hands] Is that my face?
Joe: [vomits] Four years seeing this stuff, I finally puked.

Joe: And Dr. Ambres never talked about her relationship with Orlin Dwyer?
Nurse: She never really talked about anything. After her fiancé died, she wasn't quite the same.
Barry: How so?
Nurse: Angry. Withdrawn. Only time she seemed happy was when she was with that girl in the coma.
Joe: Can you think of anything that might help us find Dwyer?
Nurse: I'm sorry, Detective.
Joe: [giving her a business card] Okay, uh... if you come up with anything, would you give me a call, please? Thank you.

Joe: What is wrong with you?
Harrison: Why did you not tell me that this Earth's vibrational frequency is calibrated at a molecular level?
Joe: You're supposed to be the expert!
Harrison: Shh.
Joe: Shush me one more time, we gonna have a problem.

Joe: This is illegal. I'm a cop. Remember?
Wally: Oh, yeah. Yes. The detective who didn't know he had a son and who doesn't know anything about me.
Joe: I am trying to get to know you, Wally.

The: The meta we spoke to said Zoom created a breach and escaped.
Joe: And how did he do that again?
The: Who knows, but he's back on Earth-2 now.
Captain: Earth-2? Is that something else I don't wanna know about?
The: No.

Joe: The nurses heard a crash in the middle of the night, but nobody saw anything. By the time they got here, Grace was gone.
Barry: Judging by the thermal warping in this glass, an energy blast with a lot of heat took out the window. But I don't really think we need any clues to know who took her.
Joe: [leaving the scene] Future Grace steals past Grace. I don't even know if there's a police code for kidnapping yourself.

Clyde: Do you think your guns can stop God?
Joe: Why the hell would God need to rob banks?
Clyde: You're right. I've been thinking too small.
